FAQs

It’s important to keep your car well maintained to extend the life of your vehicle. We have provided some frequently asked questions regarding general auto maintenance to help keep your vehicle running at its best. Still have questions, feel free to reach out to one of our mechanics!

How often should I get an oil change?

How often should I check my vehicle's fluid levels?

How often should I change my air filter?

Most cars have two main filters—one for the engine and one for the cabin. Over time, these filters can get dirty and clogged, which can make it harder for your engine to breathe and release heat properly. That can affect performance and even fuel efficiency.

While every car is a little different, a good rule of thumb is to replace your filters about every 30,000 miles. If you’re not sure when yours were last changed, we’re happy to take a look!

How often should I replace my brake pads?

Brake pads usually start to wear out somewhere between 20,000 and 30,000 miles—but it really depends on how and where you drive. A good sign they need replacing? If you hear a high-pitched squeal or grinding sound when you hit the brakes, or if your car takes longer to stop than it used to, it’s time to get them checked out. Don’t wait—worn brakes can affect your safety.

How often should I replace my battery?

Most car batteries last about 3 to 5 years, but extreme heat or cold can shorten their lifespan. As a car owner, it’s good to keep an eye out for signs that your battery’s losing power. If your headlights or dashboard lights start to dim, or your car is slow to start, it’s probably time to think about a replacement. Catching it early can save you from being stranded later!
